I'm not really bothered about the rooftop concert not being included in the deluxe edition. My main problem with it is that they didn't include a lot of the rehearsal stuff that would have been cool to have on there. I know Giles didn't really want to use a lot of it due to it being mono and I guess the same argument can be made for that as the rooftop "it's in the film" but yeah would have been cool. I'd gladly settle for all the 60 hours of footage to be honest.

I reckon this will have a physical release. I can’t imagine The Beatles would have partnered with Disney without agreeing that there would be a physical release. Also the fact that it’s Peter Jackson! Surely there’ll be an Extended Edition box set?!! 🤔

I think Jackson was aware that he may not get to make any adjustments to the runtime. Which is why he made it 8 hours instead of 6. Obviously it would be awesome to get an extended cut.

Anyone listen to the 3 plus hour Peter Jackson interview on some podcast? According to John Heaton, Peter Jackson said his directors cut of Get Back is 18 hours but Disney won’t support it. I’m guessing he says it in the podcast? Anyone listen to it?

But I’m just about ready for a second watch through. Watching/listening while I work didn't work out as its too distracting so I plan on splitting it up for the next few nights. Have to watch it again. 18 hours! Disney the new $only confirmed. #releasethejacksoncut Anyone else dig into the first few solo albums after watching this?

One of my friends who watched this with me asked for solo recommendations so I made her a Spotify playlist. Ended up playing some of it at work since it's basically a solo best-of 😂
What's great is you kind of see that if they somehow stayed together after recording Abbey Road, there was still a lot of amazing material that would've come on the next few albums. Immediately you would've had Gimme Some Truth, Working Class Hero, Maybe I'm Amazed, All Things Must Pass, What Is Life, Every Night, Look At Me, Well Well Well, Isn't It A Pity, Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey, Imagine, Jealous Guy, The Back Seat Of My Car, what have you...

Im reading a book called "You Never Give Me Your Money" since I watched Get Back and I honestly always assumed that the Get BAck/Let It Be sessions were the rough ones but the legal stuff they were going through during Abbey Road, it's incredible they made the album that they did. Also interesting to read that John was actually not as opposed to the Abbey Road medley as he let on later. Magnificently unique band to read about.

Whenever he speaks about The Beatles negatively in the early 70s, I usually take it with a grain of salt. He was in a serious anti-Beatles phase at the time, shooting everything down left, right and centre. He chilled on a lot of things I believe over time, but unfortunately most of his extensive interviews come from that angsty time period. Similarly Paul refused to play any Beatles songs at his Wings shows for many years too - though I get that all of them wanted to break off from the Beatles image and establish themselves as solo artists in their own right. But a magnificently unique band to read about indeed!

It’s just so captivating watching them work through songs and talk things out in extensive detail. I’m genuinely marvelled by the amount of intimacy we get with them sometimes.
