The person holding her breasts was actually her then-husband René lol I think Janet was really sexy during that era, but in a classy and playful way. I think she overdid it in Damita Jo etc. Yeah and how. She went so over the top on songs like Moist (really???), but janet was perfect.
The lyrics to 'if' would make your Mum blush.

At least you can't understand the majority of If's lyrics in the fast spoken parts  (or is it just me?!) I can't describe it, it's just a lot more honest and interesting what she has to say on Janet. It feels like discovering oneself. She says dirty things yes, but to me the way it is presented is a bit more subtle. Even the music videos are very sensual and refreshingly tasteful. It's all there. But it is not all in your face. Songs like Moist or Warmth are too graphic, too blank for me. There is nothing in them I enjoy. They are just provocative to me,nothing else. That's just how I feel though, I am sure many people enjoy these songs. Having said that, I absolutely love All Nite. I don't care that she is whispering through the song (I have never liked that) it is great. |

The album sleeve is her absolute best! I can never decide which is the better album; Rhythm Nation or Janet. I always give it to RN but Janet is pure raw sex! And it's honest sex gawd dammit! It's not forced its not generic! When I saw that album sleeve it was like someone switched a light on! You suddenly knew the difference between the sexes! I don't think I left my room for 6 months!

I bet you liked that particular interlude though But I agree, and they don't really add anything. The interludes on Rhythm Nation were great though. I didn't actually! I find a lot Janet's stuff post janet quite forced & trying to titilate which sort of removes the sexiness.
The stuff which is more subtle like 'if' is the real hot spot!
Even That's The Way Love Goes, which isn't dirty at all, is extremely sexy. The groove. The way she moves. Yes please.

Even though Janet. Isn't my favourite album, Janet era was definitely her best imo. Her music videos were sensual and creative and she looked super sexy. I think I might have a little crush on 93 Janet lol.
