Wasn't sure on a first listen, but it's already started to grow on me. The lead single from the 20/20 Experience (Suit & Tie) got a mixed reception, I think he likes to stir things up with the first single and then put out the surefire smash after that (Mirrors).
There's a few MJ nods in the video (including a crotch grab and a moonwalk), which I'm sure will wind some of you up.

The whole video is a rip-off of Dancing Machine.
Seriously, has this guy had an original idea in his entire life?

You mean this from Moonwalker? youtu.be/w0HG9yxMpkYYeah, I see it as a possible inspiration, although that wasn't a full video, I think, just a short scene in Moonwalker. Upon first listen and watching I find the song and video weird. I don't know yet what to make of it.

I like. Reminds me of early 80s solo George Clinton

The song and video are alright. The music video was a cool concept and I was digging the Steve Jobs vibe JT was giving off, also how he wasn't as centre stage in his own video. I was expecting something more folkier/country after that teaser earlier this week too but I like what he did here. Dunno if I'll play the song much yet (I've read online it grows more on you the more you play) but I'll probably give the video another spin or two to make better of it

^^^ New Justin Timberlake song not popular on MJ message board SHOCKER!!! Again, why is this made out to be an MJ fans thing? I went to Twitter and the reactions are just as divided as here.

Meh. Don't like this at all!! I've liked a few tracks and albums from him in the past but he's a mediocre talent. My wife -never gets old- likes him so I tended to like him by default. Something very twee about the guy also.

OK, I listened to the song again, just as a song on Spotify and it is simply boring. It feels like it is trying hard to be "different" but it doesn't go anywhere. Just keeps repeating the same stuff for almost 5 minutes. Meh indeed.

Was the movement of the robot ALL motion capture? The movement seems kinda awkward as if it wasn't.
MJ's 1996 skeleton was far better *smug*

I agree with Chris, Michael skeleton's movements never looked stiff.
That was boring and repetitive to watch. MEH, indeed. π

I don't really get why people continue checking out his work (not criticising any of you, as I too checked out the song). If the last four albums were mediocre, then why do we even bother listening to a single note of his new song? I guess that's the power of good marketing.
